Impresiones Botánicas was a sort of emotions that accompanied each of my many visits to the Santiago Castroviejo Exhibition Greenhouse, located at the Real Jardín Botánico of Madrid. A modern building opened in 1993 and built on an elegant steel and glass structure. In its six hundred square metres we can enjoy more than 1300 species of plants distributed in three botanical departments: desert, subtropical and tropical.
In 2007 I was invited by the Jardín Botánico of Valencia and the Real Jardín Botánico of Madrid to exhibit a collection of twenty nine original illustrations of plants that live in this greenhouse so dear to me and that has been reflected in the book Impresiones Botánicas.
